Early on, we recognized the shortage of bilingual applicants in a rapidly developing Hispanic community. This is especially true in the electric utility industry where bilingual customer service representatives are needed.
Then, it became apparent that nuclear power was resurfacing as a viable and necessary energy source. While bilingual recruiting has nothing to do with our nuclear recruiting niche, the complexity of finding the truly bilingual people prepared Agil Staff for nuclear recruiting. We asked one of our clients how we could do more for his company – a utility company – and he said, “Get your arms around nuclear.”
The Nuclear Energy Institute, NEI, in Washington recently reported that “….roughly half the nuclear industry’s workforce will be eligible for retirement in the next 10 years. That, together with the expected growth in the global commercial nuclear power industry, leads the NEI to conclude that the nuclear industry is facing ‘an unprecedented recruitment effort throughout the industry.’ ”
